All seniors in the district who are Catholics are eligible to participate including those in private or Catholic schools. The theme this year is:
Social media has posed many challengers for people of faith. Name three ways we can use social media and technology as a tool to deliver Jesus’s message of salvation and love to others who may not agree with our Catholic beliefs.
Essays were due by June 7, 2018. More information about the scholarship can be found here. The scholarship winner will be announced in June 2018.
Lenten/Easter Cross Taken Down – We took down the Church Cross on 5/26/18. The Cross will be raised again in 2019 before Ash Wednesday.
New Church Bookshare Books Are Coming – We will be putting three new books in the Parish bookshare in the Church Atrium. Remember these books are to be returned after you are done reading them so others can enjoy them as well. The three new books are:
The Four Last Things – Available for purchase here.
Everyman Today Called Rome -Available for purchase here.
The Triumph, the Power, and the Glory of the Catholic Church – Available for purchase here.
We also ask if you still have one of our older Bookshare books to please return them to the Church Atrium so other can enjoy them as well.
Preschool Playground Swing Sets Removal – We are in the process of removing the old swing sets in the old Church Preschool Building Playground. This area is no longer used by the Parish and the equipment has fallen into disrepair making it a potential safety hazard. One swing set has been removed already and the other one will be torn down in coming weeks.
New Fourth Degree Knight – Our Council Recorder, Christopher Welch, made his Exemplification in the 4th Degree on 5/19/18 with over 120 candidates from the Hudson Valley Council Chapter. Fourth Degree Knights actively support Patriotism including color guard duties at masses, raising funds for veterans causes, and actively making young Americans aware of how important it is to honor and remember all those who served, as well as, sacrificed for God and country so we can live and worship freely.
Building the Domestic Church Evangelization Booklet Giveaway – Our Council has purchased 250 booklets that we will be distributing at no cost to parishioners of the Church of the Infant Saviour. The booklet is called “The Family Fully Alive”. This booklet is part of the Knights of Columbus’ larger “Building the Domestic Church” evangelization efforts for 2018. The booklet is aimed at helping all of us to live out the Church’s mission and vision for our families. You can find an online preview of the book here. The booklet will be available in the Church Atrium in beginning June 10, 2018 after the 11:15 am mass. A news post will be put up on the Council web site when the book is made available.
