On Saturday; November 23, 2019 the Knights of Columbus Monsignor James S. Conlan Council #5329 hosted a Consecration to the Holy Family Mass during the weekly 5 PM Mass at the Church of the Infant Saviour in Pine Bush, NY.
A special Holy Hour was be held before the Mass starting at 3:45 pm and ending at 4:45 pm. A small, but faithful group of parishioners gathered and were lead in prayer by Deacon Jack Carr. All prayed for the success of the event later that night, adored and praised the Blessed Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist, and sat in silent reflection. It was a truly moving hour of powerful prayer and witness.
Fr. Niranjan Rodrigo was available for the Sacrament of Reconciliation during the Holy Hour so that participating families and attendees could be in a state of grace for the Consecration as recommended by event guidelines.
Fr. Niranjan Rodrigo was the celebrant of the 5 PM Mass leading the Gospel liturgy and celebration of the Eucharist. Deacon Jack Carr lead the entire congregation in reciting the Consecration to the Holy Family. The entire main Church was filled for the Mass and it was encouraging to see such a strong showing from families and Parishioners. The Mass concluded with a blessing for all the families of the Parish by Fr. Rodrigo. The choir and organist provided beautiful music throughout the Mass. The Mass, like the preceding Holy Hour, was a powerful witness of faith and dedication from the Parish to the Holy Family. It was a wonderful and inspiring Mass.
The Knights provided an icon of the Holy Family for veneration throughout the event. The icon was provided by the Hudson Valley Knights Chapter and has traveled throughout the area over the course of the last year for other Consecration to the Holy Family masses through the Hudson Valley. It was wonderful to have the icon in the Church not only for the mass, but throughout the entire weekend for all masses celebrated throughout the weekend.
After the 5 PM Mass the Knights hosted a free dinner for all attendees. Though a small number stayed it was a wonderful gathering of community between friends and families throughout the Parish. The Knights and their families kindly donated a large quantity of homemade food and refreshments. Several parishioners also kindly donated food as well. There was more than enough to go around and many a “doggy bag” was made for Parishioners to take home.
Thank you to Deacon Jack Carr for spearheading the Consecration to the Holy Family event, as well as, for leading the Holy Hour. Thank you to Fr. Niranjan Rodrigo for allowing the Knights to hold the Mass, as well as, for all his work during Reconciliation and the Mass. Thank you to all the Knights and their families who so generously donated to the community dinner, as well as, volunteered at the event. Thank to all the Parishioners who also donated food to the dinner and to all those who attended the Holy Hour, as well as, the Mass. We really appreciate your continued support and presence in our Parish. Finally, thank you to all the Extraordinary Ministers of the Holy Communion, Lectors, Altar Servers, the Parish choir, the organists, ushers, and behind the scene people who made the Mass happen. We really appreciate all you do for our Parish and thank you for all your help. We are truly blessed to have such a wonderful Parish community and are thankful for you making this event such a success!
