The Knights of Columbus Monsignor James S. Conlan Council #5329 hosted the lighting of the Church of the Infant Saviour Parish Christmas Tree immediately after the 5 pm Mass on Saturday, December 7, 2019.
The Saturday, December 7, 2019 5 PM Mass was a Candlelight Mass of Memorial Remembrance hosted by the DeWitt-Martinez Funeral and Cremation Services. Funeral Director Christopher Martinez is a Brother Knight and member of our Council. This annual remembrance mass is a wonderful way to remember the loved ones you lost not only this year, but in years past. Thank your to Chris and his staff for hosting the event and Father Rodrigo, Deacon Carr, and Deacon Rose for conducting such a beautiful mass. The mass was well attended and a really powerful way to remember the loved ones we have lost.
After the mass the Parish community joined the Knights, Father Rodrigo, Deacon Carr, and Deacon Rose in gathering around the tree. Father officiated over a brief ceremony that ended with the blessing of the tree. The Knights then lit the tree.
Each year our Council donates a tree to the Parish and decorates it. This annual event is part of of our Council’s community service to the Parish and yet another way we give back charitably to our Parish Community.
Following the Tree Lighting, refreshments and dinner were served in the Church Hall at no cost courtesy of the Knights. All were welcome to attend. This event was the Knights Annual Christmas Social Meeting where Knights and their families gather to share a meal together. The dinner was well attended by Knights and their families. The food was delicious and enjoyed by all.
We thank all the Knights who volunteered at the lighting and dinner. We also thank Father Rodrigo, Deacon Carr, and Deacon Rose for blessing the tree. We also thank Father for allowing our Council to host the event and for the use of the Parish Hall and Kitchen for the dinner. Finally we thank the Parish Community for its attendance of the events, as well as, your continued support. We appreciate all your support throughout the year and look forward to continuing to work with you in 2020 to spread the Word of the Lord to all in our community!
