Knights Put Up Lenten Sash on Parish Crucifix

On 3/29/20 the Knights put the purple Lent sash on the Church crucifix.

The Knights of Columbus Monsignor James S. Conlan Council #5329 on Saturday; February 29, 2020 gathered to once again this year decorate the outdoor crucifix near the Marian grotto outside of the Church of the Infant Saviour in Pine Bush, New York. Each year the Knights decorate the cross to remind passers by that Lent and Easter are here.

A few years back the Knights donated the money and time to build the cross, as well as, raise it each year. Last year it was decided by Church Pastor Father Rodrigo that we would leave the cross up year round as it had garnered very positive comments from both parishioners and community members alike. It is a powerful symbol to see the cross with its sash blowing in the wind as you enter Pine Bush and a wonderful reminder of the sacrifice that our Lord Jesus Christ made for us.

Thank you to all the Brother Knights who came out to help with this event and to Father Rodrigo for his leadership that made the cross construction happen.
