Second 2020 Lenten Dinner Again Soup-er, Baked Ziti Up Next

Lenten Dinners - Knights of Columbus

The Knights of Columbus Monsignor James S. Conlan Council #5329’s second 2020 Lenten Dinner was held on Friday; March 6, 2020 and the event was a soup-er… er… super one! Parishioners and community members alike came out to pick up their to go Lenten Dinner orders. The menu was Pasta Fagioli (pronounced “fah-zool”) soup. A mix of vegetables and pasta in a 16 ounce to go cup was more than a meal in itself. The soup is completely homemade by Knights Chef Joe LeClair. At $5 a serving the soup is a great bargain and wonderful way to support our Council’s charity works of faith and service throughout the year. To make things even better, Grand Knight Charlie Cino whipped up freshly made batches of his famous focaccia breads. Patrons were able to take as many pieces as they liked at no additional charge. We thank all the patrons who came out to support this event and make it such a super one!

We are also grateful to Father Rodrigo for allowing the Knights the use of the Parish Kitchen and Church Hall for the 2020 event series. Also thank you to all the Brother Knights whose volunteer work helped make this event a great success and insured that everything ran smoothly. Last, but certainly not least– thank you to all the Parishioners and patrons who purchased meals this week.  We appreciate your support and thank you for coming out once again!

Next week we will host our third 2020 Lenten Dinner on Friday, March 13, 2020. The menu is homemade baked Ziti pasta. The Ziti comes in to go container and is a very hearty portion. The Ziti is made with Grand Knight Charlie Cino’s homemade Marinara tomato sauce and topped with mozzarella cheese. This is a meatless Ziti making it the perfect Lent dinner. The cost is $5 per serving and the dinner is take out only. You can send in your orders via email and all orders must be in by Thursday; March 12, 2020 at 5 pm. There will also be an order list in the Church Atrium after each Mass this weekend (3/7/20 and 3/8/20) for you to place orders for the event.

Next week’s baked Ziti pasta dinner meal will start being served after the 6:30 pm Stations of the Cross concludes in the main Church (around 7:00 pm). All meals can be picked up in the Church of the Infant Saviour Church Hall starting at that time. Please be aware that doors will close at 7:30 pm. If you need to arrange a later pickup please let us know ahead of time when you place your order so we can make sure to hold your order for you and arrange for late pickup.

Once again, next week we will need volunteers so any Brother Knight who would like to help is welcome to do so. As those who have volunteered in the past will tell you, those Knights who do volunteer for the event always get more out of it than they give! Please be at the Church Hall by 6 pm if you wish to help out.

All proceeds from each of our Lenten Dinners will go to the various works of charity and faith our Council performs throughout the year. Thank you in advance for your support of this event and we hope to see you there!

Buon Appetit.
