2024 Keep Christ in Christmas Lawn Signs Fundraiser

2024 Keep Christ in Christmas Lawn Signs Fundraiser

The Knights of Columbus Monsignor James S. Conlan Council #5329 will begin selling its “Keep Christ in Christmas” lawn signs to raise money towards our 2024 Annual Christmas Meals for the Needy Program starting at the 5pm mass at the Church of Infant Saviour in Pine Bush NY on Saturday, October 26, 2024. We will be present with signs available at all weekend masses at Infant Saviour Church throughout the upcoming weekends there after into the 2024 liturgical Advent season with these signs available for purchase. We will also have several weekends where we will be selling signs at Our Lady of the Valley in Walker Valley NY.

Signs are $20 each once again this year. All excess funds raised beyond our Christmas Meals program’s funding needs will go to our other charitable programs throughout the year. For $20, this is a really nice sign (2-sided plastic coated) that comes with the metal frame (see picture). In addition you can order via email to reserve a sign. Pickup must be at the church after a weekend mass and payment must be made at the time of the pickup.

Last year we quickly sold out of these lawn signs and we expect demand to be high again this year especially given the new eye catching updated design. This is why we have chosen to begin sales early this year as we expect to have to order second and possibly third batches of them in order to fulfill demand.

As always, we appreciate your ongoing support and generosity as it helps out so many in our Parish as well as the greater Pine Bush NY community. Our annual Christmas Meals program donates Hannaford Supermarket food only gift cards to the Pine Bush Central School District who in turn gives it to families in need including many who participate in the school district’s free lunch program. These families are truly on the margin of hunger and need help. As such we provide the PBSCD with cards to match their requested donation amount from our organization that can be used to purchase food only. This ensures the money goes to food only and is not used for other items such as alcohol or other non-essential items. Hannaford has in the past made a small charitable funds match on these gift cards and we hope that they will do so this year as well.

Other charitable programs we do throughout the year that this money will go to includes our annual Coats for Kids coats donation to the Pine Bush Central School District. We have already ordered a box of extra insulated winter coats a few weeks back with a matching donation from the Catholic War Veterans Post#1937 enabling us to purchase a second box of coats (also ordered) that will also be donated to the PBCSD– that’s 24 coats for kids in need within our school district! Again this is a program we partner with PBSCD to identify children in need and give the requested coat donation amount to the school for distribution. None of this possible without your support.

Regardless of where the money goes to ultimately  in our charitable giving program schedule we can assure you that these funds all will go to help some one in need in our area who otherwise would not get that help without your financial support. None of this money goes to our Council’s operating costs nor does it go to anything to purchase for our Council’s monthly upkeep. It all goes to those in need.

May God bless you for your charity to those in need. We are truly grateful for your help and partnership in making these programs possible. We also cannot wait to see these signs throughout our Pine Bush community as well as beyond! May all who see them remember what Christmas is really about and whose day Christmas really is– Our Lord Jesus Christ’s day of birth where His incarnation was made flesh and born into our world for our salvation out of God’s freewill gift of love for us to be with him eternally! Praise  you Lord Jesus Christ!
