Blessed Mother Mary May Devotional Well Received

Knights Sponsor May Flowers for the Blessed Mother Veneration Devotional

The Knights of Columbus Monsignor James S. Conlan Council #5329 is grateful for the excellent response we received from the Parish Community for the  May devotional for the Blessed Mother Virgin Mary fundraiser event where we offered carnations for $3 a flower that could be put before a statue of the Blessed Mother on the Church of the Infant Saviour sanctuary along with any prayer intentions you wish to lay at the feet of our Blessed Mother Mary. We had three weekends that completely sold out of flowers and only a few remaining carnations on the last weekend. It was wonderful to see the Blessed Mother surrounded at each mass by flowers and so many parishioners spending time venerating her statue quietly kneeled in prayer. We have no doubt the Blessed Mother heard each of you.

Our Council is truly grateful for each parishioners who purchased a flower to make this devotional so successful. We also are grateful for the love shown to Mother Mary by the many more who venerated our Blessed Mother. When you introduce a new event to a parish community you are never sure how that event will be received but clearly this is something we would like to repeat annually within our parish community. Thank you again to all who donated to the devotional by purchasing flowers. We also thank Father Rodrigo for allowing us to hold the devotional. His continued support and spiritual guidance is truly appreciated. None of this would have been possible without all the support shown by the Parish Community of the Church of Infant Saviour and its Pastor Father Rodrigo! Finally we would like to thank Brother Knight Dave Vasseur and his wife Miriam who coordinated each weekend’s flower delivery as well as setting up the devotional area where the Blessed Mother statue was on the sanctuary. We also appreciate all the Brother Knights who helped with the event including collecting donations and making sure it ran smoothly each mass.

May is nearing its end but please keep Our Blessed Mother in your prayers. She truly is an advocate and always leads those who approach her to her son Jesus Christ and He always shows love to his Mother by helping all those who are brought before Him by Her. Pray for us of Queen of Heaven as we say:

Queen of heaven, rejoice, alleluia!
For He whom you merited to bear, alleluia,
Has risen, as He said, alleluia!
Pray for us to God, alleluia!
V. Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary, alleluia.
R. Because our Lord is truly risen, alleluia.
