SUMMARY:2026 Annual Pine Bush Memorial Day Parade
DESCRIPTION:The Knights of Columbus Monsignor James S. Conlan Council #5329 will be marching in the Annual Pine Bush Memorial Day Parade in support of our veterans and active military service soldiers with special remembrance of all those veterans who have died in service to our country whether in times of peace or war\, in service or retirement. The Annual Pine Bush Memorial Day Parade will be held on Monday\, May 25\, 2026. The parade steps off at 9a ET and all Brother Knights interested in joining should gather at the Crispell Middle School rear parking lot by 8a ET. \nThe parade will follow a route along Route 302 starting at the Crispell Middle School and leading to the intersection with Route 52 and Main Street. The parade will then continue down Maple Avenue and around onto North Street with the route ending at the Veteran’s Memorial in the Pine Bush Town Park on Red Mills Road. A ceremony will be held at the Veterans’ Memorial monument in the Town Park to remember all those veterans who have passed away with local State\, County\, and Town officials officiating the service. \nMany other civic and non-profit community organizations are expected to join us in the parade. Veterans groups including the American Legion Post 1308 Pine Bush NY and the Eugene Kelly Catholic War Veterans Post 1937 (Pine Bush NY) along with many local first responders\, law enforcement\, and emergency responders from the surrounding area including our own Town of Crawford Police Department\, Pine Bush Volunteer Fire Department\, and Pine Bush Emergency Volunteer Ambulance Corps will be marching as well. Many of our Brother Knights are members of these groups as well and will be marching with these organizations as they are veterans or volunteers in these other groups that are wonderful civic organizations that provide veterans with a chance to continue to serve their communities in their retired civilian life as well as find support among fellow veterans in that community service. Other Brother Knights from our Council are volunteer first responders and emergency medical responders who volunteer in our local volunteer fire and ambulance departments. They too will be marching with these groups. We are proud of all our members and their service to country\, community and Church regardless of where they will be marching in the parade. We are also proud of our Brother Knights who are veterans or retired first responders including former law enforcement officers\, full time fire department fire fighters or professional EMTs that continue to serve others in our Pine Bush community well beyond their final day of service in these very challenging roles. \nPlease come out along the Pine Bush Memorial Day Parade route to applaud\, cheer\, and encourage all who are marching especially our active and veteran military members. This year is particularly important as it is the 250th anniversary of the United States of America as a country. This year’s parade will also salute that anniversary. It is all the more reason for you to get up early and show up to support all the honorees in the parade! \nFinally we also encourage you to attend the Memorial Day ceremony in the Pine Bush Town Park as this portion of the parade will have a solemn ceremony to honor all our deceased veterans. This is the core meaning of Memorial Day as it is a national holiday dedicated to the memory of all our veteran military members who have died in either service or in retirement (Veteran’s Day honors our living veterans). It is a poignant reminder that all our veterans active or retired (living or deceased) have sacrificed greatly for our freedom in America. Let us continue to honor and thank them for this sacrifice as well as the families they have left behind in so many cases to carry on without them present in this world or their temporal lives. \nLet us also pray for all those veterans who are deceased along with their families who bear the burden of their loss of a loved one during this day of solemn remembrance. May all our deceased veterans’ souls rest in eternal peace with the Lord and may their families find solace in the Lord’s healing presence in their hearts. \n“Eternal rest grant unto them\, O Lord\, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed\, through the mercy of God\, rest in peace. Amen” \n
