DESCRIPTION:The Knights of Columbus Monsignor James S. Conlan Council #5329 of Pine Bush\, New York are offering a $500 scholarship for a graduating senior that lives in the Pine Bush School District. In keeping with our faith\, all applicants should write an essay addressing the following: \n“When someone states that they are against the Catholic Church or won’t attend Mass because of the scandals involving the clergy\, how can I counsel them that the Catholic Church is still the one formed by Jesus Christ who offers his true presence in the Eucharist on a daily basis in the sacrifice of the Mass?” \nThe essay should be between 250-300 words and typewritten. One winner will be chosen. \nThe following qualifications are in place: \n1.) Reside in the Pine Bush School District \n2.) Graduating Senior that is attending a college in the Fall 2020 \n3.) Practicing Catholic \n4.) Essays must be received no later than May 22\, 2020. \nEssay submissions can be emailed to: kofc5329@hvc.rr.com. SUMMARY:Lenten Take Out Dinner - Pasta Fagioli Soup
DESCRIPTION:The Knights of Columbus Monsignor James S. Conlan Council #5329 will hold its second 2020 Lenten Dinner on Friday; March 6\, 2020. \nMeals will start being served after the 6:30 pm Stations of the Cross concludes in the main Church (around 7:00 pm). All meals can be picked up in the Church of the Infant Saviour Church Hall starting at that time. Please be aware that doors will close at 7:30 pm. If you need to arrange a later pickup please let us know ahead of time when you place your order so we can arrange pick up for your order. \nThe menu is homemade Pasta Fagioli (pronounced “fah-zool”) soup. The soup comes in a 16 ounce travel cup. The cost is $5 per serving and the dinner is take out only. You can send in your orders via email and all orders must be in by Thursday; March 5\, 2020 at 5 pm. There will also be an order list in the Church Atrium and also another order list in the Church Hall after each Mass the weekend (2/29/20 and 3/1/20) before the event for you to place orders for the event. \nAs always we need volunteers so any Brother Knight who would like to help is welcome to do so. As those who have volunteered in the past will tell you\, those Knights who do volunteer for the event always get more out of it than they give! Please be at the Church Hall by 6 pm if you wish to help out. \nAll proceeds will go to the various works of charity and faith our Council performs throughout the year. SUMMARY:Annual Lenten Parish Community Pasta Dinner
DESCRIPTION:The Knights of Columbus Monsignor James S. Conlan Council #5329 will hold its first 2020 Lenten Dinner on Friday; February 28\, 2020 at Parish Hall of the Church of the Infant Saviour (directions here). All members of the Parish are welcome to attend. Meals will start being served after the 6:30 pm Stations of the Cross concludes in the main Church (around 7 pm). \nThe menu is linguine pasta with either marinara (red) or clam (white) sauce. The dinner is dine in or take out. Stay in meals will be free. If you choose to take out the meal the cost is $5 per serving. If you choose to stay for the Community Dinner beverages\, bread\, and other food items will be served to you at no cost as well. \nYou can send in your stay in or take out orders via email. All email orders must be in by Thursday; February 27\, 2020 at 5 pm. There will also be an order list in the Church Atrium and also another order list in the Church Hall after each Mass this weekend for you to place orders for the event whether they be take out or stay in. The lists will be collected after the conclusion of the Sunday 11:15 am mass (approximately 12:20 pm) this weekend. It is important we receive an accurate amount of orders so we prepare enough food for everyone. We kindly ask that you make sure to place your order with us ahead of the order deadline. Food will finish being prepared at 7:45 pm and doors will close at 8:30 pm. If you wish to pick up orders later than this time please be sure to let us know ahead of time when you place your order so we hold your order for that pickup time. \nAs always we need volunteers so any Brother Knight who would like to help is welcome to do so. As those who have volunteered in the past will tell you\, those Knights who do volunteer for the event always get more out of it than they give! Please be at the Church Hall by 6 pm if you wish to help out at the event. \nAll proceeds from this event will be used to fund our various works of faith and charity provided to the Parish\, our community\, and our Church throughout the year. The Council We will be reserving a couple of large tables at the Magnanini Winery Carnevale dinner celebration. The Carnevale event is very popular and reservations fill up fast– as such we ask that all interested Brother Knights in our Council RSVP by Thursday\, December 19\, 2019. \n  \nAll Brother Knights in good standing are with our Council are welcome to attend. The tickets are estimated at $65/person. When prices are finalized payment will be due at that time. Each ticket includes a six course dinner. Drinks are extra. Each Brother Knights is welcome to bring a guest. SUMMARY:Annual Church of the Infant Saviour Christmas Tree Lighting
DESCRIPTION:Knights of Columbus Monsignor James S. Conlan Council #5329 will be hosting its Annual Church of the Infant Saviour Christmas Tree Lighting following the 5 PM Mass at the Church on Saturday\, December 7\, 2019 (at approximately 6:15 pm). The 5 PM Mass will be a candlelight mass adding to the the overall theme of the Advent season as one where the light of Christ returns to world through His disciples. Those attending the Christmas Tree lighting are encouraged to attend the 5 PM mass as well. \nLight refreshments and dinner will be provided at no cost to the Parish Community following the tree lighting at approximately 6:30 pm in the Parish Hall of the Church. \nThere is no cost to attend the event and all are welcome. We encourage Brother Knights to wear their Council polo shirts and to bring their families to the event. \nEach year our Council purchases\, decorates\, and lights the Parish Christmas tree at no cost to the Parish beyond the electricity needed to keep it lit. We have been doing this event for several years and it is always a wonderful time!

SUMMARY:Consecration to the Holy Family
DESCRIPTION:As we approach Thanksgiving and Christmas\, our thoughts often turn to family gatherings. This year\, our Knights of Columbus Council was approached about an event sponsored and made possible through the greater organization of the Knights of Columbus which brings into focus the Holy Family: Jesus\, Mary and Joseph. \nThis year\, our Knight’s Council is bringing to Infant Saviour an Icon of the Holy Family in preparation for a Consecration to the Holy Family. The consecration is meant to help strengthen families and revitalize our parish. Our Knights of Columbus council is inviting every family within our parish to consecrate themselves to the Holy Family and to devote themselves to the ideal model of familial love set by Jesus\, Mary and Joseph. In the coming weeks\, a simple prayer card will be distributed which will have on it a prayer to the Holy Family. \nIf you would like to participate: \nIt’s suggested that you pray this prayer with your family each day as we lead up to the consecration itself. \nIt’s encouraged that each family intentionally fast from something ahead of the consecration in order to better focus our minds on God and His will for our lives and the lives of our family members. The fast should last at least a week leading up to the consecration. \nIt’s strongly encouraged that each member of a participating family avail themselves of the Sacrament of Reconciliation before the consecration. \nDuring the Holy Hour on Saturday; November 23\, 2019 between 3:45-4:45 pm we’ll be praying for the success of this event in our parish. Anyone may attend the Holy Hour. Your attendance would be a wonderful devotion and your prayers for your family and others would assist in the success of the consecration. SUMMARY:Holy Hour - Consecration to the Holy Family
DESCRIPTION:In preparation to the Consecration to the Holy Family Mass at 5 pm on Saturday\, November 23\, 2019 we will be holding a Holy Hour beginning at 3:45 pm. Holy Hour is a chance to adore the Blessed Sacrament of the Eucharist and pray to the Lord while in His actual presence in the Eucharist in silent reverence. Holy Hour a long standing Roman Catholic devotional tradition where you spend an hour in Eucharistic adoration in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament. A plenary indulgence is granted for this practice. \nWe ask all participants to pray for the success of the Consecration to the Holy Family Mass that will follow Holy Hour at 5 pm. This is a wonderful way for families to spend additional time together in prayer and to prepare themselves for the mass. \nAll are welcome to attend whether you plan on attending the 5 pm mass or not. Those who are attending the 5 pm Mass and taking part in the Consecration to the Holy Family are encouraged to attend. \nDuring Holy Hour the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be offered so that those planning in taking part in the Consecration to the Holy Family can (as suggested in the preparatory guide)  be forgiven of their sins and attend the Consecration in a state of grace.
