DESCRIPTION:The Knights of Columbus Monsignor James S. Conlan Council #5329 of Pine Bush\, New York are offering a $500 scholarship for a graduating senior that lives in the Pine Bush School District. In keeping with our faith\, all applicants should write an essay addressing the following: \n“When someone states that they are against the Catholic Church or won’t attend Mass because of the scandals involving the clergy\, how can I counsel them that the Catholic Church is still the one formed by Jesus Christ who offers his true presence in the Eucharist on a daily basis in the sacrifice of the Mass?” \nThe essay should be between 250-300 words and typewritten. One winner will be chosen. \nThe following qualifications are in place: \n1.) Reside in the Pine Bush School District \n2.) Graduating Senior that is attending a college in the Fall 2020 \n3.) Practicing Catholic \n4.) Essays must be received no later than May 22\, 2020. \nEssay submissions can be emailed to: kofc5329@hvc.rr.com.
