The Knights of Columbus Monsignor James S. Conlan Council #5329 will be holding a Coin Drop Fundraiser on Saturday; May 23, 2026 from 9 am to 2 pm in Pine Bush, New York. The Knights will be positioned between Boniface Drive and the entrance to Hannaford’s Supermarket (Ted Drive) with buckets to collect monetary donations from vehicles passing through the area during these hours. Directions can be found here.
If you are in the area during this time or if you live nearby, we would greatly appreciate your support no matter how big or small the donation– every penny helps us to serve those most in need within the Pine Bush community, as well as, the needs of the Church of the Infant Saviour in Pine Bush NY and St. Paul’s Church in Bullville NY. Our Council takes great pride in making sure all your donations go to worthy causes that help make our community a better place as well as help those who otherwise may not be helped out during their time of need or duress.
Some recent examples of our work in the community and our Parish are:
- Purchase of new incense censor for use at Infant Saviour during masses.
- Donation of $100 towards the new Infant Saviour devotional statue currently being used by the Parish as a weekly take home devotional for parishioners to participate in. We also had one of Brother Knights volunteer to construct the box the statue is transported in at no cost to the Parish through donated labor and material.
- Building the new “blessing box” outdoor food pantry through donated labor and supplying all the materials needed for its construction at no cost to Parish. This food pantry ministry is run by our sisters in the Catholic Daughters of American Infant Saviour Court and they asked us if we could build the blessing box. We gladly agreed to do so.
- Donation of three boxes of extreme cold winter coats (12 coats per box) to the Pine Bush Central School District food pantry that were distributed to 36 elementary school age children in need. Our brothers and sisters in the Catholic War Veterans Post# 1937 Pine Bush sponsored one of those three boxes to help us meet the requested coat count.
- Donation of $800 total this past school year (2025-2026) to the PBSCD Food Pantry that included supporting two children with weekly meals (enough for 3 full meals per day all week long). Again our brothers and sisters in the Catholic War Veterans Post# 1937 Pine Bush sponsored another child to assist us in feeding a total of 3 children for an entire year within the school district.
- Weekly volunteer assistance to the PBSCD Food Pantry with food distribution from their central food storage facility at the High School to each school district school. Our Brother Knights assist weekly in facilitating the delivery of the the food pantry’s meals from the central facility out to each school in the district that in turn then provides the week worth of meals to all children in the program. We currently have four to five Brother Knights volunteering weekly for this program and supplying the usage of their personal vehicles at no cost to the meal program for food transport to each school.
- Sponsored two children to attend the American Legion States Program this year. This program is a leadership development program that enables sponsored high school age children to learn about public service, civics, government, Constitutional law, and the importance of giving back to your community in a non-partisan environment. Our brothers and sisters in the Catholic War Veterans Post# 1937 Pine Bush split the cost with us for the first student to attend and the Carl Raymond Williams, Sr Assembly# 762 in Middletown, NY split the cost with us for the second. The program costs $298 per student and provides each student daily meals and materials for the program.
- Provided a free Coffee Social Hour to the parishioners of Infant Saviour during Lent that was part of the parish’s 100th anniversary Jubilee celebration events at no cost to the parish in March 2026.
- Sponsor the monthly Cor Men’s Prayer group that is free and open to all adult male parishioners of Infant Saviour and St. Paul’s Church. We provide a light breakfast each meeting and there is no cost to the parishes for for this program that averages about 10 Catholic men per month in attendance. Cor is a monthly stand alone fraternal gathering that is structured with programming that further develops attendees’ Faith as well as help grow their spiritually through communal prayer. This program is over a year old in our Pine Bush Catholic faith community and the monthly Cor programming is facilitated by two of our Brother Knights. We have two other Brother Knights who lead each meetings’ communal Rosary so that those who may not be familiar with the Rosary Catholic prayer devotion can follow along as well as learn it for their personal devotional usage outside the meeting. Meetings include Q&A time as well as feedback sharing time so attendees can discuss any questions they may have on that month’s Faith topic. This helps all attendees learn and grow their Catholic Faith in an environment where no questions are considered unimportant, might otherwise go unanswered or worse yet– be answered through unreliable online third party resources not in union with our Church teachings thus creating confusion about what Catholic teaching is on a given topic , teaching or dogmatic subject.
- Sponsored the Annual May Flowers to Mary Devotional that is in its second year at Infant Saviour Church. We supply carnations to parishioners at a small price to offset cost ($3 per flower) and the parishioners can place those flowers before our Blessed Mother in veneration of her spiritual Mothership of all our Church’s members. All parishioners are also able to (at no cost) place prayers petitions with our Blessed Mother Mary for intercession in with her son Jesus Christ further recognizing her title of Mother of God and what that means for her mothership of us as well. In addition, as part of this Devotional we donated approximately 15 flowers at no cost to the Religious Education program so students in the program who recently received their 1st Holy Communion could place those flowers with Mother Mary after one student placed a crown on Mary during he Crowning of Mary at the 11:15a Sunday mass earlier this May.
- Provided sacramental gifts to the Infant Saviour Religious Education program for the 2nd Grade students who made their First Holy Communion in May 2026 and the 8th Grade Students who made the Confirmation in April 2026. These total 38 students received their gift at each ceremony. The Holy Communion candidates each got a Rosary and the Confirmation candidates each got a Yappy bracelet (a wearable device that when used in conjunction with a smartphone app provides the wearer with a daily Bible verse along with a digital Bible for further personal scripture study).
- One of our Brother Knights repaired the Infant Saviour Rectory fence and restored it to its original design. The fence had degraded due to normal weather induced wear and tear over the past decade. It looks brand new now. All repair material and labor were provided at no cost to the parish. This same Brother Knight has also made several other repairs to the church over the last six months again at no cost to the parish.
- Sponsored a Wine & Cheese social hour after two separate masses back in February 2026 at no cost to the parishioners at St. Paul’s Church.
- Sponsored a Blue Mass at Infant Saviour this past weekend that included a free dinner for all honorees and their families. The Blue Mass honored active and retired members of law enforcement, military, 1st responders, medical professionals, emergency services, corrections and all those in public service to our communities, State and Federal public services that are focused on law enforcement, emergency and first response. This was done at no cost to attendees. We were able to do this through numerous private community business donors, private donors, assistance from our partners in donation fundraising as well as volunteer support (Catholic War Veterans Post#1937 Pine Bush, the Knights of Columbus Most Precious Blood Council# 9254 Walden NY, and the Knights of Columbus Fr. Richard Joyce Council# 2270 Montgomery NY). We also had several Brother Knights donate food for the dinner among other items needed to host the event. This event rotates between Walden, Montgomery and Pine Bush Councils annually. This year was our year to host the event. As such, one of our Brother Knights chaired the event and coordinated all items needed to make it successful. We appreciate all who turned out for it and thank our many supporters who made it possible including our primary celebrant Fr. Tom along with our concelebrants Fr. Rodrigo and Fr. Ray along with Deacon Frank. We also appreciate all the generous donors who made this possible and thank you for once again this year so selflessly supporting our efforts to honor those who gave so much for us in service to country, community, and God.
We have done other items these past twelve months but these give you an idea of how we use your donations to help those in need within the Pine Bush area community, grow evangelization of the Catholic faith in our parish communities, and support our parishes’ various operational needs through fiscal support as well as volunteer service.
If you are not able to attend this fundraiser, your donation is still appreciated. Contact us and we would be glad to arrange a way to get your cash or check donation to our Council. You can also donate directly to us securely online through our partnership with Zeffy here. Thank you in advance for your support of this charitable fundraising effort– we greatly appreciate all your support and continued prayers!
